On 27th March 2005, my friends and I went to Max Brenner's Chocolate Bar for an evening of chocolate indulgence. Initially we waited at the entrance for somebody to show us our seats but after a while of not being served, we decided to walk in instead. However, we were ungraciously shown out, just so that we could be brought in again by a waitress, by which we did not understand the logic behind the action.
After being shown to our seats, we spotted another table which was more suitable for our group, and hence we requested a change of tables. The manager, after knowing of our intent, then shifted our targeted table nearer to another table which was occupied by another customer. Both the waitress and us were puzzled by this action and when she thought that she was out of our earshot, she asked the manager for the reason, and we overheard him saying, "Since they want to sit there, let them sit nearer loh!"
Subsequently we spotted the manager looking in our direction and seemed to be telling another waiter about us with his gaze darting between us and the table we were supposed to be at. Feeling dissatisfied at the way the situation was progressing, we told the waitress who was serving us that we wished to have a few words with the manager. She then tried to get her manager to come to our table but failed on several occasions citing the reason that he claimed that he was busy.
We then decided not to touch our food till the manager came to clarify his comments with us. However, he did not and chose to stand behind the counter instead. We repeated our request to another waiter and he tried to get his manager's attention but failed too. Not long after, the waitress who has been serving us came over and told us that she had complete authority to solve whatever problems we had. What we really wanted was for him to clarify his comments and yet he decided to hide behind his work instead which I am sure includes ensuring that the customer is satisfied.
I cannot believe that this kind of service is available at a world class venue such as the Esplanade, and in a renown eating establishment to boot. It is indeed appalling to have been the victim of such inept and unprofessional service. I do hope that the owners of Max Brenner's chocolate bar would look into this matter.

Above is the email he wrote n emails to several organisations, who he think have the authority to look into the matter & redress his grievances.... but sadly...there weren't any replies to his emails yet....
so shall help him to spread the news of the lousy customer svc they have @ Max Brenner in my little blog.....
