A Wine Date
Boss brought all of the managers n Irene n me out for a wine date yesterday....
the place is called The Wine Company at Dempsey Road...
it is the first time tt I heard abt this place......and before yesterday...I dun tink such a place exist in Singapore lo.....The wine place is actually located somewhere inside a mini forestry along the road to orchard from holland V......
when we are driving in...The impression the surrounding give me is tt of a countryside lo......din noe such a chic place exist amidst the "ulu" surrounding.....
we saw tt there's actually some other antiques shops along the way too....an another wine place which is called The Wine Network....but my boss prefer the other one...Which explains the decision to go there....
anyway....We reached the place quite early...ard 6.20pm only.....ordered some finger foods...a spinach pizza...chicken wings.....Sausages....topshells & smoked salmon..... initially find the idea of a spinach pizza sound weird....But when it came...Surprisingly it is V nice lo!! the crust is v v thin n the entire fillings on top of the pizza is make up of cheese + spinach....v simple....yet it is really v nice... so nice tt we ordered another one....hahaha.... :p the other dish i like v much is the topshells......tink it have a similar taste to abalone.....but sweeter..... overall nice la!
boss ordered 2 bottles of red wine....one Italy the other France......I rem the yr is 2000 & 2001...but forgot which is which already......i like the one from France better...... I actually expect the wine to cost abt $100....but it actually cost less then that......ard $60++ per bottles......Thou my boss say he can get these much cheaper outside.......hmmmm...
the ambiance is quite good la......A lot of executives and expatriates.....n surprisingly...It's Full House lo! on a weekday! wooooo.......................the weekend muz b v packed.....
left ard 8.45pm.....luckily got a ride home from one of the manager.....save me my cab fares....hehe...
too bad the place is only accessible via cars....If not its quite a classy place to chill out....Thou abit far for me.... so dun tink I will be going back there... :( unless my boss want to treat again....hehe.. :p
